KUCHING, April 20: One person was killed while two others sustained injuries in a single-vehicle accident along Lebuhraya Pehin Sri Haji Adenan Satem (formerly Jalan FAC) yesterday.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 8.31pm and dispatched personnel from Bomba Petra Jaya to the location.
The operation commander reported that the incident involved a Toyota Avanza, resulting in the victim, Lai Nyuk Loi, 55, being ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Another victim, Yee Chee Wood, a 66-year-old man, was pinned inside the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters, while Chai Siu Yee, a 25-year-old woman, managed to exit the vehicle on her own.
Both injured victims received initial medical treatment at the scene by paramedics. — DayakDaily
