Tatau, Dec 26: The driver of a sand-laden lorry escaped unharmed after the vehicle caught fire at Siam junction along Jalan Bintulu-Tatau this morning.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak, firefighters from the Tatau Station responded to the emergency at 8.47am.
The fire extensively damaged 80 per cent of the lorry’s front section.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 9.23am, followed by thorough overhaul operations to eliminate any potential ignition sources at the accident site. — DayakDaily
