KUCHING, Oct 24: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and Apple Inc co-founder Steve Wozniak will be among the speakers at the much anticipated 13th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF).
The three-day event which is just one month away will be hosted at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here from Nov 21-23.
Themed ‘Disruptive Change: Impact and Challenges’, the 13th WIEF will bring together leading global government leaders, captains of industry, academicians, regional experts, professionals, corporate managers, policymakers, innovators, business leaders and investors from around the world to unlock the next phase of collaboration and growth against a new economic order.
The forum will feature more than 40 speakers from across the globe. Apart from Abang Johari and Wozniak, the prominent speakers include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak; President of the Republic of Tatarstan; President of the Republic of Seychelles; President of the Union of Comoros; the President of the Islamic Development Bank and many more.
Against the backdrop of disruptive change, the 13th WIEF will also discuss five industry growth vectors: Disruptive Science, Technology and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Emerging Spaces, Halal Consumables and Services, Islamic Finance and Law, and Arts, Culture and Design.
The three-day forum will provide a platform for deeper discussions on these industry growth vectors through its customised programmes, namely the panel discussions, masterclasses, initiative room, exhibition, business exchange and the IdeaPad. — DayakDaily
