Rundi says Abdul Aziz’s arrest ‘between Abdul Aziz and the law’

Minister of Utilities Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) secretary general Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi prefers not to comment on the arrest of state DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s special assistant Abdul Aziz Isa.

In a WhatApp reply to the DayakDaily, Rundi who is also the Utilities Minister, said he had no comment on issue.

“I have no comments. It’s between him (Abdul Aziz) and the law and the enforcement,” said Rundi.

Rundi was approached by the DayakDaily for comment because the PBB Batu Lintang Branch has claimed to be the party responsible for lodging the police report against Abdul Aziz which led to his arrest.

PBB Batu Lintang Branch spokesperson Amir Ali said the police report was filed against Abdul Aziz because the branch had viewed one of his online posts as insulting to the prime minister.

The post concerned stated: “Kenapa Razak dahulu tidak mengguna kondom ketika berdumdum chak? Lihatlah sekarang, kerana sperma setitik, rosak satu negara”.

Interpreting the statement as ‘disrespectful and rude’, PBB Batu Lintang Branch lodged the police report to allow the authorities to investigate the matter.

Chong, who is also Bandar Kuching MP and Kota Sentosa assemblyman said Abdul Aziz was arrested at 4.15pm yesterday and released on police bail at about 6pm the same day.
