Police busted online syndicate selling Ganja infused food

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department recently uncovered a new syndicate distributing ganja infused cakes, milk, chocolate and honey.

Media reports, the syndicate was uncovered with the arrest of three suspects last Friday, which includes two Malaysians aged 38 and 58, and a 35 year old Indonesian woman.

This Klang based syndicate, styling itself as “Dr Ganja” even offered medical services to treat illness.

Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) deputy director Kang Chez Chiang told the press conference that the mastermind of this syndicate happens to be a retired military personnel who launched the business online five months ago.

“A piece of cake infused with ganja is sold at RM25, RM50 for honey and RM5 per piece of chocolate,” said Kang.

The raid conducted by Bukit Aman’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) together with Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING) also seized RM16,000 worth of 18 ganja plants, 4kg of ganja powder, 72kg of ganja seeds, 4 litres of drug-infused oil, 1.4kg of ganja infused chocolate, 125 litres of ganja honey, 2 litres of ganja margarine, 1 litre of milk mixed with ganja, 400gm of ganja cake and processing paraphernalia RM16,000.

Kang also said this is the first case involving online sale of ganja uncovered this year and all suspects are remanded until June 2 to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Police seized 1,325kg of various drugs worth RM99.36 million, from Jan 1 to May 25 this year with 76,738 arrests which includes both locals and foreigners, for drug-related offences. – dayakdaily.com
