KUCHING, Nov 12: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) will fully support and comply with the terms set forth by Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (SADIA) that there shall be no logo or emblem of any association or political parties for the Nov 13 NCR Rally that will be held at Kuching Waterfront and the new Courthouse in Petra Jaya simultaneously.
PBDSB also agrees with SADIA secretary general Nicholas Mujah and its spokesperson, human rights activist Peter John Jaban that it is a community rally event; therefore, no association or political party logo or emblem or slandering words or quotes will be allowed during the two concurrent gatherings.
“This is a serious community rally event held to the people, by the people, for the people of the native indigenous communities throughout Sarawak,” said PBDSB in a press release today.
The party said it is giving support to the rally because PBDSB as a local Dayak-based party can easily relate and agree to the aims of the rally and that is for the rights of the native indigenous communities as Sarawakians and also as citizens of Malaysia.
PBDSB called on all of Dayak associations and also other political parties, especially those from Peninsular Malaysia to respect the organiser’s policy and terms and give due respect to the native indigenous communities of Sarawak.
“We hope that after the 12 native indigenous chiefs and headmen successfully submit the memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, the grievances and outcry of the Dayak native indigenous communities shall finally be heard and taken seriously following the continuous loss of significant land cases in the federal court.” — DayakDaily
