No price hike on 11 controlled goods for Deepavali

MIRI , Nov 1 : No price hike on 11 controlled goods for this coming Deepavali, says the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Miri branch Miri chief Joe Azmi Jamil.

Supplies for these controlled items, which were being placed under the Price Control Scheme, are sufficient for the upcoming festive, he assured.


A total of 11 items were being placed under this Price Control Scheme which starts from today (Monday) to November 7.

Joe disclosed this on Monday after conducting an inspection at Boulevard Hypermarket in Pujut.

Joe added, based on their inspection carried out today at Boulevard Hypermarket Pujut, all of these goods were being sold much cheaper than the price ceiling set by the ministry.

The 11-controlled items are live chicken (RM6.20-1kg wholesale price); standard chicken (RM9-1kg retail price); super chicken (RM10.00 -1kg retail price); grade A chicken eggs (44 cent each); grade B chicken eggs (42 cent each); grade C chicken eggs (40 cent each ); imported mutton( RM37 -1kg); tomatoes (RM7-1kg); red chilies (RM20-1kg); coconut seeds (RM1.30 each-wholesale price) and grated coconut (RM5-1kg-retail price ). — DayakDaily.
