KUCHING: Ibraco has joint effort with Hope Place in alleviating plight of the poor and deprived through the provision of free office usage for the latter.

Apart from the sponsoring of office space in a prime area, Ibraco is also pledging a monthly cash sponsorship.

The shop office has been officially handed over to Hope Place in a symbolic gesture this morning.

Ibraco’s decision to endorse Hope Place as its charity partner was a result of the NGO’s ability to ensure that the donated resources are distributed effectively to the recipients.

On the part of Ibraco, giving a helping hand to Hope Place has been part of its corporate social responsibility.

“We believe in giving back to the community. And we have chosen Hope Place to be the charity partner because we are impressed by what they have done in helping the needy and the poor,” said Ibraco managing director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han when officiating the Hope Place Official Handover Ceremony this morning.

He said he was impressed that Hope Place did not stop in Kuching, but has extended its charitable efforts to the whole of Sarawak, including interior Baram.

As Hope Place’s previous office was insufficient to carry out its operation, Ibraco has eased the burden of Hope Place by letting the NGO use the company’s two-storey office situated at TT3 Commercial Centre.

During the ceremony this morning, Chew also gave away food items to the needy families attending the function and school bags for the children.
