Eight including six Sabahans suspected to link with Abu Sayyaf arrested

KUCHING: The Malaysian police have arrested eight people in Kuala Lumpur including six Sabahans suspected to be linked with the Abu Sayyaf group.

One of those arrested was a leader of the IS-linked Abu Sayyaf Islamist group while the rest were members.

According to The Star, the eight arrested included two Filipinos, one of whom was Hajar Abdul Mubin. The rest, however, were Sabahans.

The Islamic extremist Abu Sayyaf group has been responsible for kidnapping cases along Sabah coast and also the Sulu Sea.
