KUCHING: The State Immigration Department will allow the entry of Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but has barred the entry of PKR Women Chief Zuraida Kamaruddin.
In a function at Bau today, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the barring of extremists from Peninsular Malaysia is still effective.
He however, would not interfere, prevent or deny the entry of Dr Mahathir to Sarawak tomorrow.
Abang Johari also pointed out that he would not be in Kuching when the former Prime Minister arrives.
Meanwhile in Miri, Zuraida’s entry was barred.
She was retained at the Miri Airport after her flight from Kuala Lumpur touched down at about 2pm.
The Ampang MP was scheduled to attend a PKR function in Miri.
This was not the first time Zuraida was banned from entry into the state. She was blacklisted during the administration of late Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem.
