Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announces Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang carried 'live' by UKAS

KUCHING, Jan 21: The Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today announced that a 50 percent discount for housing rental scheme under the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Sarawak will be implemented starting this month (Jan) until Jun, 2021.

According to Abang Johari, this would benefit a total of 3,200 HDC housing rental scheme tenants throughout the state.


“The total cost of the discount is estimated to be more than RM3 million,” he said during a special press conference on the Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang 5.0 (BKSS) held online through Zoom application, today.

On the same note, the Chief Minister disclosed that a 30 per cent discount will also be implemented for the payment of land premiums for the year 2021.

He said this discount would benefit more than 52,400 homes, commercial centers, industry, large-scale plantation and other public facilities.

“This would help to reduce the burden of the “rakyat” and will involve a total cost of RM11.8 million, which is borne by the State government under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS),” he added.

Based on each category, the large-scale plantation will see a total of RM1.3 million discount, followed by RM2.5 million for commercial category, RM4.0 million for the industry, and RM4.0 million for the others such as the public facilities. – DayakDaily.
