40yo man succumbs to injuries in fatal chain collision accident in Kapit

KAPIT, Oct 11:  A man died after the car he was driving was involved in a chain collision at Jalan Bleteh at about 4.20 pm today.

The victim, identified as 40-year-old Ting Hing Lee, was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the Kapit Intensive Care Unit (ICU) two hours after the horrific accident.

Kapit Fire and Rescue Services Department chief Erwandy Tugor said the accident involved four vehicles including a Lexus RX350 SUV driven by the victim.


He said his station received a distress call regarding the incident at 4.30pm and immediately dispatched his men to the scene to conduct rescue operation.

“Arriving at the scene, firemen found an overturned Lexus car in the middle of the road and its driver, who was already removed by the public, being treated by paramedics,” he said.

The victim suffered injuries to his left thigh and severe bleeding while the drivers of the other three vehicles escaped unharmed.

After the initial treatment, the victim was rushed to the hospital in a fire engine for further treatment but he succumbed to his injuries two hours later. — DayakDaily.
